France Grand Prix 20-22 June 2008

France Grand Prix, Magny-Cours, 22 June 2008

One of the most heavily revised circuits of 2003, Magny-Cours had undergone many changes in the off-season in the hope of improving overtaking opportunities. The circuit, however, remained overtly tRetour galerieechnical, combining long straights, medium speed corners, hairpins and slow chicanes. Chateau d’Eau, one of the key corners of the track, was lengthened and tightened to allow more overtaking, whilst the run down to Lycee was lengthened and drawn out before pulling into a hard right hander, a short straight and a brand new chicane just before the start-finish line.

Magny-Cours lies roughly halfway between Paris and Lyon. The nearest international airports are Charles de Gaulle and Orly in Paris, two and a half hours drive to the North. The nearest train station is Nevers, whichi is a 15 minute car journey from the track.

THE CHATEAU DE FONTENAY

The Chateau de Fontenay is owned and managed by the charming Gourcuff family who are delighted to open their doors for the Grand Prix weekend. This weekend offers to a privileged few the possibility of enjoying a genuine 17th century "Chateau Experience." The Chateau is wonderfully located in its' own private park only 20 km from the Magny Cours circuit. The Chateau has a number of authentic period bedrooms and offers a private dining room, living room, billiard room and swimming pool.

The rooms are divided into Standard and Grand (Superior) in our opinion it is well worth paying the small supplement of around £65 per person for an upgrade to Grand (3 nights).

Dinner is included for each night and what a delight! Saturday night is special with a special gastronomic candlelit dinner. Private Transfers can be arranged at an extra cost
