Hungarian Grand Prix

Hungarian Grand Prix 1-3 August 2008

Hungaroring, the only circuit in Eastern Europe that has held F1 GPs since 1986, has short straights and is very winding. The average speed at the course is the second lowest next to Monaco. A series of low-speed corners make overtaking points very few. The course is dusty, but it is also one of the features that the gripping power increases gradually in proportion as laps are digested and rubber of tyres is rubbed with the road surface.

The Hungaroring lies some 22km to the north-east of Budapest. Travel from the city and its Ferihegy International airport is easy using the E71/M3 roads in the direction of Miskolc.

The circuit is on the border of the small village of Mogyorod, which is a half-hour local train ride from Budapest.
