Japan Grand Prix

Japan Grand Prix, 28th-30th September 2007

Built by Honda as a motorbike test track in 1962, Suzuka is the centrepiece of an enormous theme park. The first grand prix was held here in 1987 and since then the circuit has seen some nail-biting season finales. One of very few ‘figure-of-eight’ tracks in existence, Suzuka is a huge challenge. It is incredibly fast and highly technical, with almost relentless challenges facing both car and driver. Possibly the greatest challenge of all is the fabled 130 R corner which, after Eau Rouge at Spa Franco champs, is one of the best corners F1 has ever known. If you listen carefully you can hear some drivers take this one flat out. It’s an awesome track!
